For the first time in twenty years, the honor (or is that horror?) of being named the cover athlete for EA’s Madden football game belongs to two players.
As some predicted, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald will both appear on the cover of the upcoming Madden NFL 10, EA announced today. The game will hit stores on Friday, August 14.
“Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu are exemplary examples of the epic battle between offense and defense in the NFL,” said Sr. Product Manager Anthony Stevenson. “Madden NFL 10 showcases the Fight For Every Yard, and nobody fights harder than Troy and Larry, making them the perfect athletes to grace the cover.”
Rivals in Super Bowl XLIII, the long-haired duo certainly make for a good box shot. This also happens to be Fitzgerald’s second turn as an EA cover athlete, having graced the cover of NCAA Football 2005 after a stellar career at, strangely enough, the University of Pittsburgh.
So now that the cat’s out of the bag, the next question is exactly how the Madden Curse will screw up their seasons. I’m putting my money on runaway pink eye, inexplicable bee stings, or getting choked out by their own glorious hair. Or maybe the curse has finally hit Madden himself?
Two of the most popular pastimes in America are sports and video games. Although tickets to see your favorite sports team is skyrocketing out of reach for many people, interest in sports continues at an all-time high. People unable to attend a live game often choose to watch their favorite teams on TV, but until recently, they now have a second option – play the games themselves through video games.
CyberSports Today is a radio show that caters to both sports enthusiasts and video game players. Instead of just talking about sports, people can now take control and lead their favorite teams to the championship through a video game.
More importantly, video games are fast becoming a sport in themselves with national tournaments and video gaming leagues popping up in every major city. CyberSports Today is designed to capture that audience of sports and video gaming enthusiasts through our one hour show hosted by Dane Henderson, Candace Lee, and Wally Wang.
Dane Henderson and Wally Wang both have over 20 years of stand-up comedy experience behind them, so not only does our radio show incorporate sports news and video games, but we also inject humor into the show to give listeners the sports information they want with the fun of comedy that they’ll enjoy.
